Road Trip to Reno - Lake Tahoe

Since the convention didn't start until this evening, we decided to head to Lake Tahoe for the day.

The girls were excited to be able to go to California, since they had never been.

The girls tried swimming, but the lake water was a little too cold, so they mostly played on the beach.

Once we were back in Reno,

We went back to the hotel, received our convention materials, watched some of the circus attractions
and then saw fireworks from our hotel window.

Road Trip to Reno - Returning Home

For the next few days (July 5-8), we attended the convention. There was special programming for the kids, where they got to play games, make slime, do crafts, and see a birds of prey demonstration.

The convention ended late morning (July 8) so we packed up and headed back to Las Vegas for the night. We stopped in Goldfield to check out an old firehouse (and the creepy doll!!)

It was dark by the time we arrived in Las Vegas, so after checking into our hotel, we walked along the Strip, checking out some of the attractions, like the fountains at Bellagio.

The next morning, we got an early start to head home. We stopped at the Hoover Dam.

And then finished the drive back home.

Being Cheesy in WI

We made a quick trip to WI for my grandmother's funeral. While we were there, we toured the New Glarus Brewery and checked out other sites, including getting cheesy in a gift shop.

Sedona snowstorm

We went to Sedona for a hike in Oak Creek. By the time we got there, the weather turned rainy.

First Steve tried to pretend my car was a jeep and take it on Broken Arrow trail.

Then we hula hooped on the Oak Creek trail.

Then the rain turned to snow.
Then heavy snow, and we got stuck behind a really slow car with only a half gallon of gas in the tank.
Luckily, we made it to a gas station to refill before heading home.
