Maui - SNUBA (Day 5)

On January 24, we booked a SNUBA excursion. This is a cross between snorkeling and scuba diving, since we were able to completely submerge, but were tethered to a boat with air tanks.

Maui - Exploring (Days 6-7)

During the remaining two days (Jan 25-26) we explored on our own.

We went snorkeling.

We also visited the Maui Ocean Center.

And we had a lovely sunset dinner before catching our late flight home.

Indianapolis

I went to Indianapolis for a couple of days for work. My hotel room had a great view of White River State Park. I got up early each morning before meetings started to explore the area. It was relaxing with almost nobody around.

I had a work trip at the National Academies of Science in Washington DC. During one of the breaks, I went outside for a picture with Albert.

Alaska (July 27-Aug 8, 2012)

 I went to Gustavus Alaska with Steve to visit the Bear Track Inn. 

He was working most of the trip and I was trying to vacation and spend time with him while he was there, so I explored the areas near the lodge.

One afternoon, Bandit and I walked up Falls Creek Road to the Upper Falls and the Yellowlegs Savannah trail.

Later that afternoon, Steve, his mom, and I went golfing at the Gustavus Golf Course. 

Picking wild strawberries at the golf course was more fun!

On another day, Steve and I went to Glacier Bay National Park, and then later hiked to an old airplane crash site.

Another day we ran errands, going down to the docks (saw a bald eagle), 

We also collected crab, 

and then went to get spare parts from the junk yard.
